“Zangakatoun” (“Bell tower”) NGO continued its activities in the town of Metsamour through its St. Lazarus Centre. In the frames of the project a number of art and vocational groups were opened, where children got skills and knowledge in computer literacy, singing, drawing, macramé, Puppet Theater, etc. Children cultivate “Small paradise” garden thus making a true input into the ecological improvement of the town. Multiple concerts and puppet shows were organized in the St. Lazarus Centre and town club for the citizens of Metsamor. Moreover, guest performances were given to the neighboring communities. “Palancho” (“Clowns”) puppet theater took part in the international festival of puppet theaters. [learn more]

In 2011 seven farmers, three of them female, in Kirants, Acharkut, Berkaber and Khashtarak communities who had expressed willingness to expand their apiaries to start small business were in the focus of activities. They got three more bee hives each with necessary equipment each through East Foundation grant, thus now having 10-12 bee hives each, which means that prerequisites for small business were created.
